Racing with CK Valhall
CK Valhall has a clear racing focus
We believe that racing is a natural part of road cycling. Our goal is therefore to lower the barrier to getting started with racing, so that as many people as possible can discover the joy, excitement, and the feeling of pushing their limits. There is no minimum fitness level required to race, as there are several categories to choose from. However, you will need experience from riding in a peloton. The first step is therefore to join our training rides and get comfortable in the bunch!
How to get started racing
If you’ve never raced before, getting started can seem complicated. Don’t worry, it’s simple and quick to get going.
- Become a member of CK Valhall. You will then be registered under our club and given a unique ID from IdrottOnline.se, which is needed to get a UCI License. The CK Valhall team kit is available in our online store.
- Get your UCI License. The license is mandatory when participating in races organized under the Swedish Cycling Federation. The license is bought by the member at Swecyclingonline.se.
- Buy a transponder/chip. The transponder is called MyLaps ProChip Flex and is ordered online from Nghtrading.se. You can choose to subscribe to the transponder for one, two, or five years. When recieved, activate the transponder/chip on MyLaps, register the chip number on SweCyclingOnline and attach it to the fork of your bike.
- Sign up for races. Most races are posted on Sportstiming.se, where you can register and pay the entry fee, which is usually around 100 to 500 SEK.
- Show up with your teammates. We coordinate transport to the race when possible and discuss our strategy to win as a team.
